The American Urological Association is the premier association for the advancement of urologic patient care. We are actively recruiting for an Insurance Coverage Analyst.
Supports (reviews, tracks and monitors) the research and analysis of all public and private payor policies, particularly coverage and reimbursement policies, as well as coding and reimbursement related issues. Identifies and maintains database on insurance policy changes for both public and private insurers. Reviews policy change requests from private and public insurers to determine if they affect urology. Supports the research and analysis of regulatory activities on a state basis.

The successful candidate will have:
Minimum of 5 years of direct experience in either coding and billing or insurance industry, including knowledge of claims processing, reimbursement policies and procedures, understanding of the processes and policies of insurers and medical claims coding.
Knowledge of healthcare insurance issues and healthcare policy. Understanding of state and federal insurance regulations and how they affect physician practice.
Experience in urologic coding a plus.
A current and valid coding certification through either the American Academy of Professional Coders or the American Health Information Management Association preferred.
AA degree required
Superior internet search capability, including systematic medical literature searches sought.
Must be well organized and able to keep readily accessible paper and electronic files.
Requires excellent oral and written communication skills, proven interpersonal and team skills and ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment.
