The Education Manager plans and implements education strategies for the development and management of the orthopaedic surgical skills training courses. The position ensures compliance requirements are met, adheres to program guidelines, and develops, manages and evaluates the physician education programs. The Education Manager will design and develop methodologies and other materials that will leverage knowledge and skills in arthroscopy and serve as the staff liaison to the Learning Center Committee in the development and execution of their educational activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and execute the association’s surgical skills courses to include working with content experts to develop and update course agendas, course date selection, lab assignments, and maintain CME activity files.
Assists in faculty development and recruitment of new qualified instructors.
Draft and manage project timelines and course budgets to meet financial goals.
Manage and evaluate vendors and consultants to include OLC lab staff, audio visual personnel and registration staff.
Solicit and manage exhibits, letters of agreement for corporate support and in kind contributions.
Coordinate with the OLC staff in-kind equipment contributions and specimen procurement in support of courses.
Secure industry support for focus demos.
Provide liaison support to the Learning Center Committee and Chairman.
Coordinate joint and co-provided lab courses as directed by the Director of Education.
Provide support to the Copernicus and FAST Project as directed by the Director of Education.
Assists Director in reviewing, evaluating and reporting on continuing medical education programs.
Supervise the Education Coordinator.
Perform other duties as assigned by Executive Director and/or the Director of Education.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Surgical skills education experience preferred.
Strong working knowledge of AACME accreditation standards.
Exceptional customer service, writing and communications skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects, budgets and resources simultaneously.

Ability to interact effectively and to work congenially in a small office environment.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in business, education or related field.
Working knowledge of adult learning principles, a plus.
Minimum 5 years proven experience coordinating/planning educational programs, preferably in a medical association.
Nature of work requires ability to operate standard office equipment. Requires ability to communicate and exchange information, collect, compile and prepare work documents, set-up and maintain work files.
Work is performed in a professional office environment and in the Orthopaedic Learning Center. Position requires availability for extended hours plus non-traditional hours (weekends) to perform job duties. Some day and overnight travel.
