The National Business Officers Association (NBOA), the only national association focused exclusively on supporting independent school business officers and business operations staff, and fostering financial and operational excellence among independent PK-12 schools, is seeking a dynamic, creative and data-driven marketing leader to serve as its Vice President, Membership and Marketing.
Reporting to the President and CEO, and serving as a member of the association’s senior leadership team, the Vice President initiates and executes organization-wide marketing strategies encompassing NBOA program, products and services.
Essential responsibilities for this position include:
Conceptualize, build and execute the lifecycle of all marketing strategies in alignment with NBOA’s strategic goals and mission
Oversee the development of high-quality marketing materials and presentations to internal and external stakeholders related to the promotion of NBOA programs, products and services, including the management of external service providers (market research, design, production, mail service, etc.)
Lead all association member acquisition strategies including the execution of a year-round member recruitment strategy to achieve association goals
Oversee the ongoing development of the NBOA website as an indispensable member resource for the independent school business officer community
Oversee membership intake and orientation processes to develop key messages and communications targeted to new members during their first two years of membership
Create and maintain accurate data in the association database. Build integrity reports and systems to flag and correct missing or erroneous data
Lead and facilitate member research and data collection activities that support marketing strategies and that enable the identification of new and enhances services for delivery by NBOA
Oversee a year-round membership retention strategy focused on increasing overall numbers of participating member institutions, and increasing the number of individuals within a member institution that directly experience the value of NBOA membership
Oversee business development activities including sponsorship programs, exhibitor and advertising sales and discount purchasing programs
Manager all aspects of the NBOA awards program, including serving as staff liaison to the awards selection committee, from soliciting nominations to distributing awards
Oversee the development and management of special-interest group online communities
Serve as a member of the leadership team and partner with staff on organizational priorities and goals
Bring quality and excellence to all membership activities

The successful Vice President, Membership and Marketing, will have:
A bachelor’s degree; an MBA and/or CAE is preferred
Seven to 10 years of full-time work experience in marketing and/or member services, preferably in an association environment
A proven track record for successfully increasing and sustaining market penetration
Experience with database marketing and an extensive understanding of marketing channels
Strong working facility in MS Office 365 applications, and experience in netFORUM or a similar association management system
Experience at organizing and supporting a disciplined process to supervise direct reports and achieve goals
