The American Society of Transplant Surgeons (ASTS) is a medical specialty society representing approximately 1,800 transplant surgeons, physicians, scientists, and allied health professionals working in the dynamic field of solid organ transplantation. Our staff is passionate about supporting the scientific research, clinical, advocacy, and educational activities in which our members are engaged. ASTS is seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented Education Coordinator to play an essential role in supporting the administration and success of ASTS educational offerings. This position will help ASTS maintain the ACCME’s prestigious Accreditation with Commendation status by supporting the development of outstanding educational opportunities for ASTS members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Serve as the primary liaison to the Curriculum Committee, faculty authors, online system vendor, and others to implement and maintain the online National Transplant Surgery Curriculum content and other e-learning programs;
Manage the maintenance and ongoing improvement of the ASTS online “Academic Universe” learning management system (LMS);
Support CME/CE compliance through maintenance and documentation for accrediting bodies;
Provide support to membership, vendors, and others to implement and maintain educational programs and other functions of the CME activities;
Manage the mobile apps and webpages for educational events;
Provide administrative support to and communicate regularly with the educational committees to help implement ASTS educational activities;
Serve as the liaison to assigned committees, coordinating activities and providing support as needed to achieve the objectives determined by the leadership;
Assist with special projects, as needed; and
Other duties as assigned
Some travel required (2-3 times/year).

Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.)
Results-oriented, self-starter, deadline-conscious, intellectually curious and willing to learn
Excellent customer service skills
Polished verbal and written communications skills; strong presentation skills when needed
Well-developed interpersonal skills, especially the ability to work effectively and professionally with physicians and other health care professionals
Demonstrated success at collaborating with cross-functional teams
Strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently and prioritize amongst multiple projects and deadlines and function with a fast-paced team environment with internal and external stakeholders
