The New York State Society of CPAs and its Foundation for Accounting Education are seeking an Education Manager who will be responsible for identifying, producing, and delivering timely, quality educational programs, products, and services reflective of and relevant to the accounting profession. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this individual will collaborate with membership and marketing colleagues and staff to manage the overall design, development, and marketing of all internal and external educational programs, products, and services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Evaluate the overall education program to ensure that all curriculum areas are covered to identify gaps in offerings and to determine how to meet those needs.
Develop educational seminar programs and monitor any changes affecting the profession such as new tax laws or accounting pronouncements.
By studying the marketplace and actively recruiting and researching all sources offering Continuing Professional Education (CPE) seminars, oversee the broad goals of keeping our presentations “marketable”.
Review and evaluate the program offerings of vendors for content and quality.
Monitor the selection of facilities for courses and conferences that appropriately serve members geographically.
Attend meetings of governing bodies to address CPE issues as needed.
Transition content and educational products to on-line delivery systems.
Knowledge and Skills:
3-5 years management experience with budgetary and financial knowledge
Experience and understanding of curriculum development, theories of learning, knowledge of evaluation techniques and market research.
Demonstrated experience in association work or working with committees and volunteers
Excellent written and oral communication skills
