The Financial Services Institute (FSI) seeks an energetic, motivated professional to assist with our marketing communications efforts in the role of Marketing & Communications Coordinator. This position reports to FSI’s Director, Marketing & Communications.
Drafts, sets up and deploys all member email marketing communications;
Manages email contact list and helps coordinate email marketing campaigns;
Maintains and manages FSI’s social media presence;
Tracks media hits and produces regular analysis reports;
Drafts and distributes press releases;
Assists with posting press releases and other communications/marketing related items to FSI’s website;
Assists with events including, but not limited to, coordinating webinars, event materials, marketing and promotion;
Writes articles/blog posts for various communications;
Assists with branding initiatives across all platforms including electronic and print properties;
Travels a few times a year to attend conferences;
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Excellent writing and editing skills, with an eye for detail;
Ability to communicate clearly, succinctly and diplomatically, both orally and in writing;
Experience writing press releases, articles, blogs, newsletters and social media;
Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Office programs;
Proficiency in WordPress and social media sites (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn);
The ability to quickly learn and utilize project management tools and a contact database (Microsoft Dynamics CRM and/or ClickDimensions experience a plus);
Familiarity with media monitoring services, such as Cision, a plus;
Works well under pressure and with rapidly changing priorities;
Excellent organizational and project management skills;
Resourceful problem solver with a positive and flexible attitude;
The ability to work both independently (self-motivated and self-directed) and collaboratively in a team environment and apply good judgment;
Basic HTML knowledge and/or graphic design capabilities a plus, but not required;
A commitment to outstanding internal and external customer service;
An eagerness to learn about the financial services industry.
1 - 3 years of experience with marketing communications projects, preferably as part of a communications team in either a trade association or the financial services industry. Educational background in journalism, communications, public relations, marketing or related field is also preferred.
