The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) is an Illinois-based nonprofit membership organization serving Chief Information Officers and Senior Healthcare Information Management Executives, with headquarters in Ann Arbor, MI.
We are currently seeking a Manager of Education. This position reports directly to the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer and works closely with the Vice President and Director of Education. The Manager of Education will participate in the development and management of educational programming activities including webinars, e-learning initiatives, in-person symposia, leadership academies and workshops associated with regional and requested educational events. These may include events done in collaboration with and for key organizational partners. The successful candidate will use his or her extensive content knowledge of the healthcare IT industry and adult educational delivery methods to assist in the design and execution of innovative programs and services, adapting written and published content for supported delivery methods.
The Manager of Education will engage and collaborate with association staff, members, volunteers, third party/allied organizations, and key industry stakeholders to develop high quality education programming and expand the reach of the association’s education and professional development platforms through individual, team-based, and committee efforts.
The successful candidate must demonstrate proven effectiveness in leading group and team efforts, solid project management competencies, and accountability for financial and operational success within available budget and resource allocations.
He/she will help provide and expand the organization’s role in hosting well-rounded regional educational programs consisting of quality conferences, seminars, webinars, and special events in support of the professional development needs of CIOs, CMIOs and senior healthcare IT executives. Occasional travel, including some weekends, will be required to provide on-site support for some of these programs.
The Manager of Education is responsible for supporting the association to develop plans for regional programs and will respond to requests from key organizational partners to develop special programs for them. This includes collaborating with staff from CHIME’s for-profit entity, CHIME Technologies, to respond to requests and to discuss needs and requirements for these programs to provide value to the organization and its members.
The ideal candidate will have association experience and will demonstrate strong organizational skills with in-depth knowledge of the professional education landscape and proven skills in planning, marketing and administrative skills for this manager level position. The candidate must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to achieve results in a dynamic and changing environment.
Ensures successful delivery of high quality programs which are effective, timely and within budget supporting the organization’ strategic and tactical plans, expectations and goals.
Collaborates and effectively works with staff, members, committees and third parties as individuals and in team based situations with the development and execution of regional and special event educational content and programs.
Coordinates directly with the event management function for all CHIME activities.
Develops and maintains a bank of discussion leaders/moderators, speakers and faculty supporting regional educational programing activities by recruiting, assigning and monitoring evaluations of speakers and faculty.
Develops and maintains the regional program calendar and provides quality control over these programs, their content and faculty/presenters ensuring high-quality execution.
Conducts evaluations of all programs and maintains reporting on Key Process Improvement (KPI) metrics.
Acquires the speakers and faculty for programs as designed.
Conducts speaker calls to prepare faculty and speakers for their sessions in regional programs.
In collaboration with marketing and communications staff, develops a marketing plan to promote both the overall regional education schedule and individual event/course offerings to appropriate audiences to maximize attendance.
Works with local event staff and A/V providers to set up the events for CHIME.
Attends and supports events on site as needed.
Participates in committees which represent and/or participate in the development of regional education programs and services.
Supports the VP of CHIME Technologies in reviewing new education program requests and providing input into contracts and agreements (i.e. HIMSS Chapters, Foundation Firm representatives); sets up appropriate administrative actions and reports to comply with contract commitments; assists in setting up and completing post program reviews and report production.
