Statewide Association Seeks Dynamic, Innovative Executive Director
The Pennsylvania Psychological Association (PPA), a statewide nonprofit association headquartered in Harrisburg, PA, with approximately 3,000 members is seeking a new Executive Director.
This is an exciting time for PPA, and board leaders are seeking an innovative self-starter to continue the organization’s mission of promoting the science and practice of psychology by supporting psychologists to meet the evolving needs of the public. Through leadership and innovative management, the Executive Director works closely with the member-driven Board of Directors and psychologists statewide.
The Executive Director is the organization’s chief staff executive who supervises five key staff positions. The Executive Director duties also include oversight of PPA’s Foundation as well as PPA’s Political Action Committee.
Candidates must have knowledge of: non-profit management and governance principles, strategic planning, leadership practices, fiscal management, staff management, government relations, membership recruitment, fundraising, strong oral and written communication skills, and facilitating voluntary leadership.
Preference will be given to candidates who have the following: at least seven years’ experience in nonprofit executive-level management, MBA or equivalent degree, CAE designation, and familiarity with the field of psychology or health care.
Salary commensurate with background and experience.
