The Manager of Membership Engagement is responsible for the development and implementation of membership services and operations. This includes oversight of the design, accuracy, function, and operation of membership elements within the database and development and implementation of membership retention and engagement efforts across member segments. This position is also responsible for assessing, analyzing, and developing new ideas to strengthen member value and managing the administration of the SVS Affinity Program portfolio. The Manager of Membership Engagement provides oversight and supervision of the Membership Specialist position.
What you own:
Serve as primary staff liaison to the Membership Committee, Young Surgeons Committee, and Medical Student and Resident Outreach Committee.
Provide assistive staffing support as needed for the APDVS related to membership outreach in obtaining trainee data for candidate membership
Direct billing and collection of membership dues for SVS and APDVS
Provide assistive support in billing and collection of allied society membership dues.
Serve as primary liaison to the Director of Technology on matters relating to member data and membership data processing needs including exchange of data files with vendors and associations.
Oversee membership application and approval process.
Develop and implement membership retention and reactivation campaigns.
Develop membership demographic profile reports and analytics.
Supervise Member Specialist.
Assist in the development and monitoring of Membership budgets.
Provide consultation on the operational elements of membership marketing campaigns.
Represent the SVS, and SVS Membership, at the VAM, at various booth shows and other meetings as requested.
Manage, update, member affinity program portfolio.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What you bring to the job:
Bachelor’s degree required (business, administration, information science, or other comparable degree); advanced degree or committed progress toward CAE designation desirable.
Minimum two-years’ experience in membership services administration, preferably for a medical specialty society or other not?for?profit organization.
Excellent management and leadership skills (i.e., creating and working in a team environment, analytical skills, interpersonal and communication skills)
Experience working with databases, and proficiency with MS Office, social media, and web updating.
