1. Work with the director of multimedia development, program directors and the multimedia visual information specialist to develop graphics for multimedia training projects.
Work with the director of multimedia to develop graphic design packages for long format video training productions for use as stand-alone products and/or e-learning training course elements.
Work with the multimedia visual information specialist to develop graphic design packages for LMS courses and applications.
Design 2D and 3D motion graphics for use in video productions and LMS course materials.
Work with various production teams to design information graphics and webinar presentations that convey information cleanly and accurately.
2. Maintain design processes within the Alliance to ensure adherence with established design standards as well as effective and efficient operations.
Ensure all training materials reflect the look and feel of the company brand.
Research and provide recommendations on appropriate design and authoring software/tools based on current market trends and related industry enhancements.
Establish appropriate design practices, protocol and templates to ensure a high-quality learning experience.
Establish and maintain a unified storage method to house multimedia production elements as well as historical versions of courses/materials.
3. Maintain member “Multimedia Video and Webinar Library”.
Compress and upload Vimeo new and updated video productions and recorded webinars.
Close caption videos and recorded webinars for 508 compliance.
Link, organize and create thumbnails for the multimedia video and webinar library in the CVSA member portal.
Edit, create and enhance images and illustrations.
4. Work to design and maintain CVSA web, online, and/or mobile apps to push CVSA information and training materials to the membership.
Research and provide recommendations on appropriate mobile app development software and training or contract possibilities.
Develop initial architecture for mobile applications, based on membership needs.
Maintain applications to ensure compliance with operational and regulatory/policy changes.
Candidate must possess program and project management experience. Specific technical program knowledge is required in the area of digital multimedia development, digital graphic design, 2D and 3D motion graphics, digital video compression, digital presentation software, Adobe Creative Cloud and basic LMS structured e-learning.
He/she must have the ability to make sound, prudent judgments in the decision-making process. He/she must have the visual eye and creativity to develop engaging and effective visual communications from concept to completion.
Candidate should have knowledge of adult learning principles and instructor development training. Incumbent has the ability to convey highly technical materials and concepts at a level suitable to the industry.
Candidate must possess the specific technical and managerial skills necessary to accomplish the objectives of each assigned project. He/she must have the ability to plan, organize and implement his/her management of assigned projects.
Candidate must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to effectively and tactfully interact with employees and members at all levels of the organization. He/she will also contribute to all CVSA communications and outreach activities (e.g., Guardian, CVSA website, Safety Exchange, webinars, brochures, videos, training, etc.) both internal and external to the organization.
The Multimedia Design Specialist will travel in support of CVSA meetings, programs and activities as directed by the Executive Director or Deputy Executive Director. He/she will be expected to make presentations and communicate to various groups if needed.
The Multimedia Design Specialist works closely with the director of multimedia development to design and implement consistent branding across all mediums of CVSA.
The Multimedia Design Specialist will prepare, develop and submit all required reports in a timely and professional manner. He/she will maintain appropriate time and expense records for all activities.
Multimedia Design Specialist
Serves as a multimedia design specialist resource to all operating elements of CVSA
Has a good understanding of the CVSA LMS as well as the CVSA video production process and the ability to work collaboratively with the multimedia visual information specialist to develop new and effective course materials addressing the needs of the membership
Ensures that projects under his/her director are coordinated and delivered to meet the objectives and policies of the Alliance
Exercises considerable independent judgment and discretion in determining courses of action, scheduling, and methods used to carry out assignments and accomplishment of final results. Work requires a great deal of originality on the part of the incumbent in achieving objectives, within the broad framework of general CVSA policies, and specific assignment areas by the immediate supervisor. Most of incumbent’s activities do not permit prior review or concurrence. Incumbent is required to keep the director of multimedia development informed of his/her day to day activities and to seek guidance and counsel, as appropriate
Provides direction to appropriate staff, contractors and/or consultants engaged in CVSA activities when they are to be specifically assigned to the multimedia design specialist
Works directly with the director of multimedia development and program directors on collaborative projects to set overall organizational policies and priorities. Considers and analyzes the implications of proposed actions and decisions on the whole of the organization
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of rules, regulations and pronouncements affecting nonprofit organizations that may affect CVSA’s operations, and ensures compliance.
Ensures compliance with federal grant and contract reporting requirements.
Education and Experience:
Post-secondary degree and/or several years of demonstrated experience in responsible positions related to multimedia design.
Experience in managing financial resources and encouraging innovative approaches to deliver the most effective and efficient training possible.
Familiarity with the North American Standard Inspection Program and related enforcement activities is desired.
Familiarity with commercial motor carrier transportation safety is desired.
Familiarity with CVSA operating practices, inspection procedures, North American Standard Out-of-Service Criteria (OOSC), the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs) and Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMRs) is desired.
