I. Position Objective
Provide support to the APGO Executive Director and the APGO office staff in the area of communications, with major responsibility for web-based resources including, the overall content of the organization’s website, developing marketing materials from concept to initial design for meeting programs, signs, postcards and other communication pieces. Liaison with the APGO Communications Specialist and other staff members as above-listed projects progress.
II. Key Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain an ongoing team-based working relationship with the APGO Communications Specialist including the creation of web-based content on our LMS, CMS and AMS systems. Develop, organize and copyedit content of online postings to maintain consistency with APGO printing standards across the website for all programs, meeting information, awards and new program announcements. Serve as a resource for the APGO staff for website activities.
Compile, compose, edit and coordinate design, layout, printing and distribution of the APGO Annual Report. Set annual report theme in conjunction with the APGO Executive Director. Work directly with graphic designer for appropriate design to accompany the theme, and with the printer for printing deadlines. Throughout the year, take photographs to be included in the annual report and other publications.
Formulate agendas by working with the Testing and Self-Assessment Committee and Technology Committee meetings.
Attend, take notes and generate minutes and reports for the following meetings: Testing and Self-Assessment Committee and Technology Committee or other committees as assigned.
Complete other projects as assigned by the Executive Director.

Gain Support of Others.
Maintain ongoing communication with Communications Specialist and Executive Director on programs and projects. Foster relationships with APGO Board, and other task force and committee members to accomplish project goals. Establish relationships with designers, printers, editors and other vendors to ensure excellence of product.
Obtain Approval from Others.
Make informed oral and written recommendations to Executive Director to gain approval for specific projects. Establish positive working relationships with other APGO staff members and collaborate for project efficiencies and cross-training.
Utilize Own Judgment
Make cost and value comparisons in selecting designers, printers, editors and other vendors, and negotiate contracts with same while working within budgetary constraints. Receive competitive bids for every project. Access continuing education needs to enhance skills and knowledge necessary for fulfilling current and anticipated job responsibilities and objectives.
IV. Responsibility for Resources
Conduct projects with approval of Executive Director in coordination with physicians, consultants and vendors and other staff members.
Budget and Financial Resources
Coordinate with Executive Director budgetary requirements for communications, publications and other projects as needed. Analyze final expenses and make recommendations for future budgetary guidelines.
Equipment and Capital Resources
Responsible for operation and maintenance of all Digital Communications Specialist’s office equipment.
Relationships with Others
APGO Communications Specialist. Collaborate daily with APGO Communications Specialist to ensure a team-based approach to all projects.
APGO Staff. Collaborate as needed to create new and update existing webpages and marketing materials throughout the year.
APGO Board of Directors. Work with Board members as necessary.
Various Committees and Task Forces. Interact with various committees and task forces as necessary.
APGO Members. Provide information on programs/activities.
Council on Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology (CREOG). Work well with CREOG staff to create collateral related to the CREOG & APGO Annual Meeting, as necessary, as well as at the meeting site
Printers and Graphic Designers. Communicate with designers and printers on projects as necessary
