The American Hospital Association (AHA) is a national organization that represents and serves all types of hospitals, health care networks, and their patients and communities. We are currently seeking a Certification Program Manager for the Personal Memberships Groups (PMGs) located in Chicago.
The Certification Program Manager provides certification and credentialing expertise for the Personal Membership Groups (PMGs) within the American Hospital Association. Provides guidance for the development, administration, and maintenance of new and existing certification programs. Works with AHA Certification Center advisory board, subject matter expert committees, and AHA staff to educate, clarify, and promote certification industry standards.
With AHA-CC Program Committees and external psychometric consultant, helps to develop and implement high quality examination programs and associated products. Works with SMEs and vendor to develop standards and measurements meant to track mastery of a variety of topics and fields.
Collaborates with subject matter experts and external psychometric consultant to identify required knowledge and supports the development of valid and reliable tests or assessments.
With AHA-CC Program Committees, participates in item writing, test development and psychometric analysis of test items and examinations. Guides subject matter experts to continuously improve program performance and quality.
Ensures compliance with national psychometric standards and national standards for certifying agencies.
Maintains and enforces AHA-CC Policies and Procedures, ensuring compliance with NCCA Standards.
Provides project management for all AHA Certification Center projects, including the creation of timelines, meeting minutes, and communication updates. Maintains documentation of materials and certification decisions as required for accreditation.
Creates and manages selection process for volunteer subject matter expert committees, in accordance with NCCA standards and the AHA Certification Center strategic vision.
Provides training, coaching, and education to a broad group of stakeholders on topics including certification standards, item writing, etc.
Provides internal consulting to sponsoring societies to ensure certification programs meet national standards and help them develop and sustain a strong business model.
Provides internal consulting to sponsoring societies to support marketing and educational efforts which are in compliance with national standards.
Bachelor's degree in Education, Research or related field.
5-7 years experience with a minimum of 5 years experience within the certification/credentialing profession; with experience leading a broad group of stakeholders in the development or administration of certification programs.
Experience delivering formal and informal training on complex certification topics.
Experience working with subject matter experts creating high quality programs which are aligned with national standards.
Knowledge Requirements: Advanced knowledge of certification standards, procedures, methodologies, and best practices, including NCCA Standards and ISO 17024 Standards. Advanced knowledge of job analysis and exam development.
Technical Requirements: Intermediate computer and Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) skills are required. Association Management System / CRM skills is a plus. Advanced research skills.
