Purpose: Under the supervision and direction of the Program Account Manager, will develop, plan, coordinate, staff and monitor education and training project activities, and assist with the analysis, evaluation of the training activities.
Duties and Responsibilities: •Identify and analyze educational/training needs of client groups and organizations and translates needs into educational programs (assist in developing/structuring curriculum, training objectives and timelines). •Develop training needs assessment for clients and educational programs. •Facilitate conference planning committee and small group discussions in goal of securing a structured agenda for training activities. •Participate in coordinating education and training workgroup activities such as starting projects and directing, assigning and reviewing work, project management monitoring and quality assurance measures and procedures. •Coordinate meetings, conference/workshop planning and appointments including all preparations and arrangements for training events. •Coordinate, facilitate and/or implement meeting and catering logistics including arrangements for conferences and training at meeting facilities, speaker travel, and exhibitor logistics. •Compile and summarize results and assist with developing and writing reports, manuals, articles, quarterly reports, work plans and other written materials. •Actively work in collaboration with cross-functional teams to develop processes, conduct quality improvement measures and innovations to solve project systematic issues while providing meaningful input to leverage team’s talents and services. •Staff regional trainings and conferences within the state of Michigan. •Assist with coordination of internal communication mechanisms and other systems. •Act as a liaison with clients, vendors and funding agencies. •Assist with the design and assist in the development and distribution of promotional and program materials. •Assist in budget development for training activities and monitor project budget spending specific to speaker costs, facility costs, and general training expenditures. •Negotiate price quotes with vendors to comply with budgetary guidelines for public health events. •Represent MPHI through presentations and exhibiting at local, state and national conference and training events within and outside of Michigan. •Maintain a positive, strong, credible, professional and interpersonal relationship with all parties relevant of MPHI projects, and represent the best interest of MPHI at all times.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in relevant field is required or equivalent work experience. Certification in meeting planning, convention industry, (etc., CMP, CSEP, GMP, etc.) is strongly preferred.
Experience: A minimum of three to five years of related and progressively more responsible work experience in public health even planning, education and training program development, project management and communications within a team-based collaborative and highly productive environment. Specific experience of two years or more in continuing education administration is highly desired.

Must have strong organizational abilities; attention to detail; and time and project management skills in a fast pace environment with multiple milestones and deadlines. Ability to work with minimal supervision, while being self-motivated and self-directed. Conference planning experience is a plus. Strong event budget monitoring skills is desired. Proficient in basic word processing, spreadsheets, and database systems. Willingness to help others as a problem solver and serve as a trusted team member.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements: Job may require moderate physical effort including lifting materials and equipment of <50# and involves viewing a CRT or VDT screen 25% to 75% of the time. Standard office environment. May require valid vehicle operator’s license where needed to perform duties of the position. High level of state travel.
