The Employee shall serve as Executive Director of the organization and shall have immediate authority for its overall operation. The Employee is considered a member of the NARI Atlanta Strategic Team as the appointed Director, recommending and participating in the formulation of the Associations goals, objectives, strategic plans, programs, policies and budget management. The Executive Director will guide, direct and train an Executive Assistant or outsourced administrative support team to assist in the management of the Chapters day-to-day activities.
Responsibility and Authority:
The Executive Director will report to the Executive Committee and Board of Directors. The Executive Director will have the authority necessary to carry out the duties and responsibilities with guidance from the Executive Committee, Board and Associations Strategic Plan.
All duties shall be carried out in accordance with the By Laws as established by Chapter and NARI, its members, and the policies established by the Board of Directors.
Manage day-to-day activities of the NARI Atlanta office
Answer and respond to incoming NARI Atlanta calls and e-mails at the Chapters established phone number and email addresses.
Maintain standard office hours of operation, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8am and 5pm, excluding established legal holidays.
Maintain a physical office address for shipping, maintaining and archiving of Chapter records, and receiving correspondence.
Verify and assist, with support from the By Laws & Ethics Committee, the Board with adherence to NARI Atlanta’s Bylaws and operating procedures.
Maintain official NARI Atlanta records and documents as required for 501-C6 non-profits.
Attend all monthly networking meetings, Board of Directors meetings, Membership, Ethics and By Laws, Marketing, and Finance committee meetings as well as yearly Executive Director Forum/Conference at NARI HQ each year.
Participate, support, and serve onsite during NARI Atlanta’s established major events – The Cutting Edge, Golf Outing, Tour of Homes, and CotY Awards Ceremony.
Along with the Executive Committee, direct the overall operation of the Chapter in such a manner as to ensure its legal integrity, financial security and operational efficiency.
Work with the Executive Committee and Board of Directors to develop and monitor a long range strategic plan for the Chapter.
Assist the Board with establishing administrative policies and procedures designed to ensure efficient operation of the Chapter.
Work with the appointed Treasurer, Finance and Audit Committee, retained Certified Public Accountant and Board of Directors in the preparation of the annual operating budget for the Chapter and assist in the monitoring of the Chapters bank accounts and chapters financial performance against the budget.
Guide the activities of the hired Chapter staff in order to assist them in achieving the objectives of the NARI Atlanta Chapter and maintenance of records, files, and board activities.
Assist the Board of Directors in the development of all policies and programs of the Chapter.
Retain outside professional services where and when appropriate to assist and support the ongoing activities and objectives of the Chapter, its Committees and Board. All contracts for outside services will require board approval. Such services may include, but are not limited to legal counsel, accounting firms, public relations firms, and insurance firms.
Review all membership applications and perform collection and distribution of dues as per NARI National and NARI Atlanta Chapter guidelines.
Ensure and oversee that required general liability and errors and omission insurance policies are current.
Establish and maintain good working relationships with related trade associations, public bodies, and government affairs groups in an effort to improve the remodeling industry’s image in the Metro Atlanta community.
Serve with the elected Chapter President as the chief spokesperson to the media on matters related to NARI Atlanta as well as the remodeling industry in general.
Five plus years of non-profit management experience, CAE designation preferred
Highly organized and skilled with Microsoft applications, MS365, Quickbooks. Ability to work with website portals, understanding of social media, and digital email campaign platforms.
