The National Cyber Security Alliance seeks a Director of Government Outreach and Engagement reporting to the Executive Director. This position will be responsible for engaging and diversifying NCSA’s partnerships with Congress, Federal, state and local government and other nongovernmental organizations to facilitate cybersecurity awareness and education. The Director of Government Outreach and Engagement will work with the Executive Director and all NCSA staff to build on NCSA’s deep culture of teamwork, partnership, collaboration with stakeholders, commitment to quality and year-over-year growth. Responsibilities include:
Plan, organize and execute/deliver briefings and events educating Hill staff (including district offices) on how to stay safer online;
Liaise with key government and key stakeholders around building ongoing awareness efforts;
Establish, track, analyze and report on success metrics to funders and other key stakeholders;
Maintain and create new website content (lockdownyourlogin.org) specifically for higher risk users such as Congress;
Work with staff to design and implement strategies, plans and procedures setting deadlines and insuring resources and content have been diligently reviewed (externally and/or internally) before being released;
Work collaboratively to dovetail government-related work with key organizational activities, primarily National Cyber Security Awareness Month, Data Privacy Day and CyberSecure My Business;
Expanding stakeholder engagement with key organizations;
Convene and organize monthly meetings with government partners;
Collaborate with the NCSA team and help a small but growing nonprofit mature over time.
At least 5 years of nonprofit or industry experience including programmatic leadership;
Demonstrated experience working as facilitator of partnerships, with government, industry and nonprofit organizations;
Experience in developing and implementing events and communications programs; familiarity with traditional and social media;
Superlative organizational skills;
Knowledge of basic cybersecurity protection measures (non-technical);
Ability to juggle numerous priorities while maintaining a positive attitude and remaining supportive of staff.
