IAHSS seeks a Marketing and Communications Coordinator to join the association in its new headquarters office in Rosemont (just steps off the Cumberland Blue Line stop) during an exciting time of change, growth and opportunity for the association.
The Marketing and Administrative Coordinator will report to, and work closely with, the Executive Director to assist in developing and executing marketing & communications plans related to the recruitment and retention of IAHSS members; the promotion of certifications, conferences and training; and the expansion of IAHSS’ social media presence. He/she will have primary responsibility for preparing and distributing IAHSS weekly and monthly electronic communications including newsletters and emails, and will track analytics related to all marketing and communications activity.
Create membership communications in Constant Contact and YourMembership, including weekly email and monthly newsletter development and distribution. Gather items to be communicated from other IAHSS staff and/or volunteer leaders as needed, and ensure all communications have been proofread and reviewed by appropriate staff prior to distribution.
Gather, monitor, and report on data regarding important marketing metrics (email open and click through rates, website analytics, social media analytics, membership growth and retention).
Make updates to the IAHSS website as needed (YourMembership.com is the host and content management system.) Experience with HTML is preferred, but not necessary.
Enhance marketing outreach and member communication through the use of social media
Monitor relevant industry news to be shared with the IAHSS community through social media and newsletters.
Draft and distribute press releases as needed.
Participate in developing and administering programs to recruit and retain members.
Serve as the primary staff liaison and support for the IAHSS marketing committee.
Provide backup and support for other IAHSS staff positions as needed, including answering primary phone lines, responding to member inquiries and requests, processing memberships and IAHSS store orders, and other various tasks.
Respond to member/non-member inquiries in a professional, courteous and timely manner
Ensure accurate and consistent data is input and maintained in both the certification database (learning management system) and the membership database (association management system).
Work with other volunteer led committees and task forces as needed.
As IAHSS has a small staff of 4-5 individuals, other duties may be assigned by the Executive Director to contribute to the overall support and growth of the association
High level proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)
Excellent writing and editing skills
Experience designing websites and/or electronic communications is preferred, but not required.
Strong task management, organizational, and analytic skills.
A positive and energetic attitude toward serving our members is essential!
Ability to work independently with high level guidance on several wide-ranging projects
Bachelor’s degree is required. Concentration in Marketing, Communications, or Business is preferred
1-3 years professional marketing and/or communications experience preferred
1-3 years experience with a professional nonprofit association is preferred
Experience with YourMembership.com software is preferred
Experience with Constant Contact is preferred
Some travel may be required (less than 5%)
Occasional weekend work may be required.
