General Position Summary: The Staff Accountant will be responsible for managing the daily financial activities and reporting as well as handling the financial responsibilities associated with all of SETS databases. This position will handle all office equipment.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
Perform all accounts payable functions, check runs, ACH and wire transfers.
Accounts Receivable including collections and invoicing.
Manage Concur system, which is used to process employee credit card expenses.
Prepare and mail all required 1099 forms.
Perform monthly close routines related to cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other general accounts as assigned.
Managing financial transactions in Salesforce/MYS
Maintain accounting controls by following SETS polices and procedure
Manage daily office operations: phones, mail, and equipment.
Point person for IT issues to coordinate with IT vendor
Manage office facilities through AngusAnywhere software including Datawatch.
Maintain and update all operational schedules.
Plan and carry staff activities.
Work directly with the Accounting Manager & CFO on large projects at hand, this may include financial or operational projects in nature. Completion of projects will work towards achieving SETS strategic goals.
Education and/or Experience:
The ideal candidate must have knowledge of MS Office Suite and Accounting Software (Great Plains 13 preferred); strong verbal and written communication, attention to detail, customer service and organization skills; and the ability to handle multiple tasks. Degree in accounting or related field a plus but is not required for this position.
