Under the general direction of the Director, Medical Education and Products, the Education Programs Manager manages the planning and implementation of ASGE education events and activities, working closely with physician volunteers. Collaborate with physician volunteers to develop print, video, or on-line instructional materials; events; workshops; or conferences. Develop budgets, monitor, and record expenses for education events and activities. Ensure education events and activities are within CME guidelines and in compliance with ACCME criteria and regulations.
Essential Job Functions
Contributes to the design and development of the annual ASGE education calendar. Uses course data and feedback to make recommendations.
Collaborates with external volunteer subject matter experts in planning, designing, developing, and managing the development of instructional materials for various clinical courses. Secures faculty and communicates daily with faculty, moderators, external vendors, and internal staff from analysis to implementation.
Enters/maintains education events and activities in event database.
Participates in budget planning process. Prepare, monitor, and adhere to budget for assigned education events or activities.
Creates content for ASGE education events and activity promotional pieces, ASGE website, and social media channels.
Recommends activity modifications based on post-activity feedback and objectives.
Prepares reconciliation, or executive summary, reports for each assigned education event or activity.
Participates in on-site management for ASGE education events and activities and attend other educational meetings, as required.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Business Administration, Hospitality or related field, or equivalent experience required.
Minimum of 5 years recent, continuous experience in a healthcare or medical nonprofit environment managing projects, programs, events or other relevant experience.
Program/project management experience desirable.
Awareness of and embraces the Alliance for Continuing Education in the Health Professions (ACEhp) national learning competencies.
Knowledge of learning management systems desirable.
Ability to take initiative and lead projects with minimum oversight. Can experience heavy workload at times. Reliable and committed to adhering to task deadlines.
Well-developed oral and written communication skills with all levels of staff and volunteers.
