Search under way for the Chief Learning Officer of the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA), located in Des Plaines, IL, with approximately 105 staff and an operating budget of $23 million. ENA is the premier professional nursing association dedicated to defining the future of emergency nursing through advocacy, education, research, innovation, and leadership. Founded in 1970, ENA has proven to be an indispensable resource to the global emergency nursing community. With more than 42,000 members worldwide, ENA advocates for patient safety, develops industry-leading practice standards and guidelines, and guides emergency healthcare public policy. ENA members have expertise in triage, patient care, disaster preparedness, and all aspects of emergency care.
ENA is seeking a skilled executive with experience in health care, association leadership, project management and education program design and development. The Chief Learning Officer provides leadership and executive management for ENA’s educational programs and resources that advance the practice of emergency nursing. This position is responsible for the oversight of ENA’s program portfolio to ensure offerings align with the vision and mission of the association. The Chief Learning Officer plays a key strategic role in the growth and development of ENA’s Educational Portfolio and the Association, through participation in the ENA Senior Leadership Team and in collaboration with the ENA Board of Directors and other key member stakeholders.

Candidates must have a minimum of ten years of demonstrated leadership experience in educational product development, association management or related field; Experience in a senior level management position with responsibility over multidisciplinary functions; Project Management; and educational program design and development. A Bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree, professional certification and healthcare experience are considered desired.
