Senior Manager of Governance
Membership, Affiliate Relations, and Governance Department
The National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) has an opening for the position of senior manager of governance in the Membership, Affiliate Relations, and Governance Department. The senior manager supports the director of membership, affiliate relations, and governance with governance activities related to the Governance and Nominating Committee; nominees for the Board of Directors; by-laws review and updates; the Assembly and the Annual Membership meetings. This position’s primary focus is on assisting the director in support of solid governance procedures.
NACAC is an education association of more than 16,000 postsecondary and secondary schools, organizations, counselors, and college admission and financial aid officers that work with students as they make the transition from high school to postsecondary education. Supports the work of the Governance and Nominating Committee.
Supports the Board of Directors’ application, nomination and election process.
Receives application forms and systematically organizes information for Governance and Nominating Committee review.
Posts updates to NACAC by-laws.
Posts updates to NACAC membership criteria.
Maintains schedule for submitting governance information to NACAC Bulletin editor.
Updates and maintains governance sections of the NACAC website.
Assembly and Annual Membership Meeting
Supports the process for recording and verifying elected delegates’ eligibility to serve.
Communicates with affiliate leaders and delegates regarding delegate eligibility and maintains and updates final list of delegates.
Maintains delegate information in data management system to generate accurate reports.
Supports preparation of scripts, slides, and meeting materials for the Assembly and Annual Membership meetings.
Collects and disseminates Assembly and Annual Membership meeting materials.
Functions as onsite script coordinator for Assembly and Annual Membership meeting at NACAC conference.
Serves as liaison to the Minutes Review Committees and finalizes and posts minutes.
Assists with Membership and Affiliate Relations activities.
Performs other duties as assigned.
The senior manager of governance will attend the Leadership Development Institute and the NACAC national conference. Other travel may be required.
Minimum of five years of association governance experience performing similar functions.

Professional interpersonal skills.
Strong reading, writing, proofreading, and editing skills, including the proper usage of English grammar and syntax.
Exemplary organizational skills, including being efficient and demonstrating a high attention to detail.
Ability to anticipate tasks and proactively identify resources and solutions.
Ability to multitask while meeting deadlines with accuracy and timeliness.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to learn and use web-based tools for updating content on NACAC website pages and other software and platforms as required.
Ability to work both independently and in coordination with others.
