Innovative, dynamic professional nursing membership association is currently seeking an experienced individual to plan, organize and implement the support and services for the association’s sections and chapters.
Incumbent’s primary responsibilities will be:
Section Development and support:
Provide leadership and direction to section and chapter leaders.
Manage annual leadership development plan, to include support for program, leadership and membership development at the section and chapter levels.
Work with sections and chapters orient new and continuing national, section and chapter elected and appointed leaders to their roles, responsibilities and association priorities.
Identify and develop tools and resources to support section/chapter program, leadership and membership development in conjunction with marketing department.
Represent the association at national and section conferences and act as a resource for leaders and members alike.
Update Section and Chapter Leader area of the website and oversee the monthly Section and
Oversee the Section Advisory Committee
Work with the 12 person committee on implementing and maintain the nine focus areas identified by the Section Advisory Committee and the Board of Directors
Institute a new communication structure between the BOD, HQ and Sections/Chapters
Section Grants Program
Administer and manage the Section/Chapter Initiatives Grant and work in conjunction with the finance department and the Board of Directors.
Track and report on innovative program, leadership and membership development programs at the section and chapter levels.
Convention Host Committee
Function as Co-chair liaison to the Annual Convention Host Committee.
Coordinate section election process and support for section nominating committee.
Ideal candidate must have B.A. degree or equivalent. At least five years of successful experience in component/chapter relations management preferably with non-profit organization. Three to 5 years of supervisory experience. Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills, teamwork orientation, and ability to motivate wide range of people. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including demonstrated writing ability, public speaking and training/development experience. Demonstrated ability to initiate and manage projects; strong organizational skills. Proven track record of planning training and/or conference for volunteer management. Conflict mediation experience preferred. Must be able to work independently and as a part of a team and with all levels of staff, Board, membership and volunteers. Word processing proficiency, preferably in Microsoft Word. Experience in Excel as well as database management experience preferred. Basic html a plus. Ability to train and educate other. Excellent customer service skills. Demonstrated ability to be critical thinker, problem solver and ability to troubleshoot. Travel up to 25% Must be able to lift up to 30lbs.
