E&A is seeking a Senior Director of Meetings to work with our growing list of association clients. The ideal dynamic and innovative candidate will be a self-motivated, proactive, and detail-oriented team player. Knowledge and experience in meeting planning, logistics, and association management is key. The right team member will be responsible for planning and executing assigned client meetings and providing other association management support. A keen attention to detail, the ability to think ahead, and a strong dedication to customer service are essential.
This full-time exempt position is on-site in our Richmond office. Travel mostly within Virginia is required with some overnights annually. College degree or relevant experience required.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
Manage all assigned client meetings (conferences, tradeshows, and other meetings) from start to finish, including RFPs, hotel contracts, vendor contracts, speaker management, travel management, rooming lists, event orders, on-site staffing, budget management, processing invoices, and expense reports.
Assist in program development for assigned client events including content development, program creation, and event marketing.
Solicit exhibitors and sponsors for selected events.
Support communication and marketing efforts for E&A and clients including proofreading.
Liaison and support client committees, task forces, and other peer and volunteer groups.
Other association management duties as assigned to support E&A clients.
Required qualifications
5-7 years of meetings/conference experience at a minimum with large conferences (1000+ people) a plus, preferably for a professional or trade association, association management company, or similar type organizations.
Excellent customer service skills for interactions with clients, meeting attendees, vendors, and members.
Strong communication (written and verbal), proofreading, time management, and organizational skills.
Exceptional project management skills with attention to detail.
High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Experience with association management systems; proficiency with MemberClicks a plus.
Problem solving, analytical thinking, and ability to work on multiple tasks independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment to meet deadlines.
