The Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) is seeking a Director, Program of Distinction to oversee and successfully execute on all aspects of the Program including building capacity, executing marketing, overseeing budget, and working closely with applicants through the review process. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director will focus on managing all aspects of the Program, ensuring that project goals, schedules, contractual obligations, and budgets are met. This position embodies APIC core values: agility, innovative leadership, integrity, stewardship, and teamwork.
Major Responsibilities include:
Serve as APIC Consulting primary point-of-contact for all interactions with client hospitals, surveyors, subject matter experts, staff, and other stakeholders for the APIC Program of Distinction (Program). Set and manage expectations.
Manage day-to-day operational aspects of the Program, including tracking and moving all applicants forward in the process toward designation.
Create detailed work plans, which identify and sequences the activities needed to successfully move applicants through the Program.
Develop and oversee budgets and tracking/reporting of expenditures for the Program.
Oversee invoicing process and work with Accounting staff to maintain accountability for the Program accounting.
Develop professional relationships with all stakeholders and communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.
Work with team of subject matter experts to finalize any remaining aspects of the Program, institute policies and processes, and enhance the Program through regularly-scheduled reviews.
Pursue accreditation of the Program via two identified accreditation organizations and complete all components of applications.
Build capacity for the Program with surveyors and other team members and establish strong vetted team to execute Program.
In collaboration with Executive Director, execute marketing and communications efforts, including social media, for the Program.
Oversee website and work with web contractor to continually enhance.
Qualified candidates will offer a bachelor’s in a relevant area, with master’s degree preferred, plus 5 to 7 years of proven, successful, high-level program management experience. APIC is seeking candidates with experience in recognition and/or incentive programs, establishing and managing strong client relationships, and event management. Candidates should have advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite and excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills. Knowledge of business development principles with proven success in securing seven-digit gross revenues on an annual basis is required.

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area; Master’s degree preferred
Five to seven years of proven, successful, high-level program management experience
Experience with recognition and/or incentive programs
Experience in establishing and managing strong client relationships
General knowledge of the healthcare industry
Advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite required
Experience with events management
