The Senior Manager, Education will support the planning and implementation of education programs at all BIO events. Primarily this position will provide support for content development at BIO events as well as work on expansion of revenue generating education initiatives. This position will interface with the other departments on needs related to programming for all BIO events.
Assist in the planning, development and execution for all education programs at BIO Conferences and Events.
Supports the development of programming content for BIO events, including support for industry research and analysis related to those events.
Conducts necessary data collection and analysis to identify relevant topics and trends to feature through recruitment of speakers for BIO events that will help drive attendance and align with BIO’s policy objectives.
Conducts multiple channels of outreach to the investment, policy, venture capital, banking, and business development communities to increase their awareness and involvement in BIO’s events. Manages relationships with contractors who provide expertise and/or support to BIO’s events.
Executes the recruitment, education, preparation, and deployment of speakers at BIO’s events.
Supports Marketing team with content about events and speakers.
Supports Sponsorship with designing attractive opportunities in event programs for sponsored speaking roles and providing content pre-event.
Assist Education department on projects such as researching investment and biotech/pharma companies and events of interest.
Coordinate the programmatic elements of the Advanced Business Development and Business Development Fundamentals Courses at the BIO International Convention.
Maintain relationships with the course organizers, faculty.
Coordinate all speaker and program logistics.
Collect data from program participants on programmatic needs and feedback on current program.
Coordinate the Virtual Attendee Package at BIO events. Work with vendors to enhance the current package and expand this program to other events.
Contribute to education program design based on industry trend analysis, including writing panel descriptions, ancillary research and panelist/company outreach for BIO events.
Write letters of invitation to conference or event speakers.
Collaborate on and edit marketing pieces highlighting conference program elements.
Organize pre-conference meetings and conference calls for panelists. Set up conference calls; coordinate with participants’ EAs, etc.
Contribute original content to BIO’s online platforms.
Provide on-site administrative or customer service support at various meetings and conferences.
Support the coordination and work of BIO’s Workforce Development, Diversity and Inclusion Board Committee. Serve as a project coordinator and ensure communications among departments within BIO related to the WDDI Committee.
Strong verbal and writing communications skills
Strong research and analytic skills highly desirable
Experience with CMS, blogging, and social media
Microsoft environment (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access. etc.)
College degree or equivalent years of experience
5+ years of related work experience required
BA/BS degree is a plus
