The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
Cultivates, solicits, and stewards foundation partners.
Develop and implement a comprehensive development fundraising plan and strategy to include major gifts, special campaigns, special events, individual giving, organizational contributions and grants.
Manages prospect lists to identify, cultivate, and solicit grants and sponsorships to help meet the CNS’ philanthropic revenue goals.
Works closely with CEO to ensure effective Foundation Board and CNS Executive Committee engagement in fundraising, as appropriate.
Builds and manages significant professional relationships with key funders.
Meets the fundraising objectives of the CNS Foundation.
Collaborates with the CEO, Finance Department and CNS Foundation Board to establish annual foundation and corporate fundraising budgets.
Manages a quarterly fundraising dashboard for CEO and CNS Foundation Board to monitor progress toward annual revenue targets.
Fosters a collaborative relationship with senior staff at CNS to ensure alignment between funding needs and fundraising efforts.
Develops communications, tools, and other resources needed to manage a high-level fundraising program.
Provides exceptional content and writing for grant proposals.
Creates case statements, reports, letters, email communications and other fundraising tools needed to maintain contact with prospects.
Maintains a complete record of interactions with prospects and donors. Provides frequent reports.
Manages annual fundraising events, including the Silent Auction held at the CNS Annual Meeting as well as new fundraising events as determine by Foundation BOD.
Serve as primary staff support for Foundation Board of Directors, including:
Scheduling and facilitating quarterly BOD calls and working with the Board President to establish agenda.
Assisting BOD members as needed with individual fundraising efforts.
Advise and make recommendations on best practices for the CNS Foundation.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Three to five years’ experience in fundraising with a focus on foundation and/or corporate areas.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Expert knowledge of targeted fundraising techniques for foundations and corporations, with track record of successfully seeking and helping to close five to six figure gifts.
Ability to work independently to cultivate and manage the development process.
Demonstrated experience in proposal writing.
Effective presentation skills. Excellent writing, spelling, grammar, and proofreading skills, as well as strong verbal communication and constituent service skills.
Strong project management skills. Must be able to successful manage multiple projects with competing priorities and meet deadlines. Excellent attention to detail.
Strong computer and typing skills, including expertise with Microsoft suite of software: Outlook, Word, and Excel.
