The Director of Strategic Planning & Performance Management assists the executive leadership team in the formulation, execution and revision of the Academy’s strategic plan. Facilitates strategic planning sessions with leadership, at all levels, to develop initiatives and projects to support the strategies for revenue generation, member value, and achievement of mission-oriented goals. Continues to scan the internal environment to ensure the focus of organizational units continues to remain aligned with the Academy’s strategies. Works collaboratively and proactively with the Board of Directors, staff leadership and key contributors to analyze, monitor and identify issues and problems that could affect mission alignment, growth and organizational goals and results. Develops and owns the process for new business opportunity analysis to assess viability, achievement of defined metrics, and alignment with the Academy’s strategic plan.
Develop and monitor strategic, multi-year plans leveraging assets across the organization to actualize the Academy’s priorities and goals.
Work with the executive leadership, staff and the Board of Directors to align the Academy’s strategic initiatives, objectives and performance metrics
Support the development and integration of organizational units’ strategic plans and metrics.
Lead the Academy’s continuous strategic planning process.
Ensure coordination and alignment of strategic planning across the Academy.
Ensure effective communication and adoption of strategic plan with stakeholders.
Uses proven strategic planning methodologies and tools for making the development and planning process easy to do, understandable and repeatable.
Assists business lines and executive leadership with new business opportunity analysis to include the intake process, financial evaluation, market analysis, and metric development.
Master’s degree in a related field or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and significant experience and or training that may equate to an advanced degree.
Considerable hands-on strategic planning experience at similar or complex organizations.
Proven project management skills, determining priorities, attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness.
Experience with financial planning, budgets and strategic metrics.
Excellent interpersonal skills with strong ability to influence others and build a collaborative environment.
Ability to foster relationships with external allies, decision makers, and stakeholders; to work in both a team atmosphere and independently; and to meet internal and external demands in a fluid environment.
Must be a strategic thinker with sound judgment and excellent political acumen.
Strong quantitative and qualitative data analytics skills and an ease in synthetizing data into productive information.
