Assistant Account Executive, Associations - NYC Location: New York, NYC
What are we looking for?
Kellen is seeking an experienced, energetic, organized assistant account executive for its association management business. The initial assignment is in Kellen’s New York City office serving in a general support role for Kellen clients.
The successful candidate will have strong organizational and people skills to help manage day-to-day association operations and assist in the execution of client strategic goals. Excellent communication and organizational capabilities are a must along with sharp attention to details. This is a unique position with significant growth opportunity for an individual ready to step up to the next level. The ideal candidate will be results driven, detail-oriented, quality-oriented, and enthusiastic and able to work under competing and varying deadlines. The successful candidate will be a team player and have a deep commitment to achieving positive change and proven ability to manage the organization’s resources. What will you do?
- Prepare high quality written material for websites, newsletters, eblasts and other communications vehicles
- Assist with planning for client meetings, events and conferences.
- Respond to multiple inquiries and requests, preparing communications and informational materials.
- Interface with our clients’ Board of Directors, Committee Leadership, Members and Supplier community via phone, email and in-person meetings and events.
- Stay well informed about the members and the industries they represent.
- Provide support to committees and attend all meetings and assure preparation of minutes.
- Collaborate with multiple internal departments, including accounting, membership and meeting planning.
- Complete additional projects and duties as assigned.
Am I qualified? - A college degree plus minimum, two to four years of professional experience preferred
- Excellent written and oral communication skills plus computer literacy, including digital media
- Forward thinker with a positive, “whatever it takes” approach
- Reliable and flexible
- Ability to work with a wide range of personalities and styles
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and guidance
- High energy, self-motivated, multi-task oriented, with an entrepreneurial orientation
- Willing to travel
