POSITION SUMMARY
AHRI is looking for a self-directed and experienced Vice President, Finance to direct and manage all financial and accounting activities. This individual will provide leadership and coordination for budget management, financial analysis, forecasting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial reporting. This position reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and assists the AHRI Senior Staff on all strategic and tactical matters as they relate to budget management, cost benefit analysis, forecasting needs and management of the certification and membership dues collection process

Essential Functions
 
  • Maintain and oversee accounts payable/receivable; the determination and invoicing for: member dues and certification fees; reconciliations; banking and investment activities, business insurance plans, and maintenance of fixed assets of the organization and its related organizations.
  • Oversee the management and coordination of all fiscal reporting activities for the organization
  • Develop and maintain systems of internal controls to safeguard financial assets of the organization.
  • Participate in developing new opportunities for AHRI, by assisting the CEO, COO and Senior Staff in the drafting of budgets and determining cost impact of current and proposed services.
  • Attend and report on AHRI’s financial status at appropriate governance meetings.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
Current CPA Certification required
 
Experience:
7+ years of progressively responsible accounting, financing and leadership experience leading to employment in an executive role
Experience managing and directing an accounting team
Auditing experience
 
Computer Skills
Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Suite, with proven expertise in MS Excel and MS Word
Avectra NetFORUM - Knowledge of meetings management software, particularly Avectra NetFORUM preferred
