The Director of IT Platform will serve as the key staff member to manage core systems, develop and maintain data and web content, and create and grow social media across all platforms. Idealliance has many touch points, including 11 global offices, and the work we produce has transformed the graphic communications industry. The Association’s IT infrastructure and its connectivity, usability, extensibility, and reliability will be core factor for success and it potential to grow membership, programs, and services.
The Director of IT Platform will work closely with the executive, project management, and association staff to understand the industry’s current and prospective needs across business processes, operations, technology, and professionals and how this translates into our information, communication, and commerce platform. This position works closely with executive and managerial staff to ensure the association's strategies, missions, and budgetary goals are achieved through the product programs, which are fundamentally supported by our backend systems, LMS platform, web content, and social media. This position requires tact, sensitivity, professionalism, strong collaboration skills, and a high aptitude for learning because it is cross functional throughout our organization.
This position requires the capacity to understand a multitude of internal and external systems and how they interact including Learning Management Systems (LMS), databases, accounting requirements, and websites. This position requires the ability to collaborate on continuous process improvement and building workflow efficiency in order to reduce long-term costs, enhance the user experience, and grow the image of the Association.
The role of this position will be divided into the following 4 areas:
35% iMIS and Learning Management System (WBT TopClass): Technology, quality, workflow, management of systems, infrastructure support and maintaining IT operational fluidity including the structuring, reliability, and accessibility of data for communication and commerce.
35% Social Media Strategic Marketing: Support the development and management of a social media strategy including update, distribute, manage, and maintain content between multiple platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, Vimeo, Twitter) and communicating and promoting new activity, programs, launches and key messaging on a global scale.
20% Web Content & Connectivity: Analyze, manage, and maintain web content continuously and the building of communities.
10% Analytics & Process Improvement: Working with staff provide consistent analytics to assess platform and use with recommendations for enhancement including developing and setting the strategy and stay up-to-date with latest trends and best practices. Manage and direct the development, strategy and maintenance of web-based systems and streamlining workflows and content moving across channels. Contact and coordinator for outside IT systems contractor on communications, computers, and software.
Responsibilities and Duties
Database management to ensure all systems are functioning properly in iMIS and on the website.
Oversee website user experience including architecture and navigation.
Maintain iMIS and LMS platform (WBT TopClass, currently moving from Moodle) integrity to ensure on-going seamless user experience, back-end management, updates, reporting, and overall architecture.
Implement, maintain, and trouble-shoot iMIS, collaborate internally to maintain integrity of system.
Develop and distribute digital content across multiple channels on a regular on-going basis, working closely with all departments within the organization.
Serve as lead with outside contractors for staff computer and software needs and troubleshooting.
General and Administrative
Maintain personal productivity and quality standards that attract financial returns for the association.
Counsel senior staff on improvements to enhance association profitability and operational efficiency.
Provide excellent service to members, customers, prospects, and event attendees.
Maintain a positive attitude in meeting and achieving program and association goals.
Ability to balance multiple priorities while keeping to timelines and priorities.
Support association members, as well as committee and peer group leadership in dissemination of agendas, announcements, and program materials.
Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor that reflects the association’s commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and respect for individuals.
Keep abreast of industry trends and new technologies.
Research and recommend improvements and improved communications and marketing for programs.
Participate in department, project, and team meetings.
High energy, collaboration, and organizational skills to work effectively in a team setting and focus on desired outcomes.
Works independently to evaluate and manage concurrent processes and projects to meet established goals, deadlines, and quality standards.
Possession of effective interpersonal and customer service skills including to convey policies and procedures clearly.
Excellent ability to analyze and write operational efficiency, business management, and sales and marketing documentation for proofreading and editing.
Solid computer software skills including, coding experience, iMIS RISE or comparable Content Management System, Microsoft Office Suite, database (IMIS, WBT TopClass), web design, HTML, CSS, SEO, Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop or comparable software (InDesign), Google Analytics, collaboration, communities, and workflow processing.
Additional computer software skills for product development such as eLearning software (Adobe Captivate-preferred), WBT TopClass, Video/Audio Production (Adobe Premiere Pro, Techsmith Camtasia, Audacity), Webinar platforms (WebEx Preferred), and Learning Management System (LMS) Platforms.
Deep understanding and experience with Google Analytics, Facebook, LinkedIn, Bit.ly and other social media SEO and data measuring platforms.
Strong project management skills.
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Management, Communications, or technical discipline preferred.
7-10 Years of related work experience.
Appearance at all times must represent the association image.
Fast-paced environment: subject to numerous schedule and priority changes and short notice activity.
Must possess or be able to obtain a valid passport.
The position may require hours outside the standard 9-to-5 hours.
