As NIGP's Director of IT, you will be responsible for the leadership, management and direction of the Institute’s Information Technology systems. You will be charged with developing, operating, and maintaining computing facilities, equipment, and services that meet the needs of the administrative, educational, and research programs of the Institute. The Director of IT is responsible for all aspects of information technology management and control, including supervision of departmental employees; systems support and maintenance, budget preparation and management; recommendations for technical acquisitions; and development of guidelines, standards and procedures. The Director of IT is charged with participating in strategic planning, directing tactical action, and providing operational decision-making to fulfill the mission of the Institute.
Your Key Responsibilities are:
Project Management: Collaborates with staff and stakeholders to evaluate technology needs and implement business solutions, Web services, and applications, with a focus on member services. Manages large-scale IT Projects. Responsible for standards for the AMS & Web systems. Designs/re-designs workflows. Interpret guidelines and analyze information.
Internal Management: Manages the IT budget. Supervises IT staff. Manages IT policies and procedures. Develops IT organizational policies and procedures. Establishes department goals.
Infrastructure Management: Works with support vendors to ensure network infrastructure, network/software/hardware upgrades. Responsible for developing plans and prepares for emergencies.
Your Ideal Skills and Abilities:
Experience as a hands-on IT professional, managing people, systems and IT
The ability to act as a wheel for the rest of the organization when it comes to IT requirements
Great communicator, verbal and written
Strong database and application systems knowledge
The ability to know how software systems impact and interact
Your Minimum Qualifications are:
10+ years’ experience in information technology, information systems with database/LAN administration
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field; significant relevant experience may be substituted for a degree
Experience with Abila netFORUM Enterprise or other like-AMS system required
Prior work experience with a non-profit association preferred
Previous work experience as a database administrator or systems administrator preferred
