The Society for Neuroscience (SfN) is searching for an Accounting Coordinator that will assist in facilitating the workflow of vendor invoices to ensure that the invoices are timely processed for recoding and payment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Receive and process daily cash receipts by identifying what payments are for and updating the received payment spreadsheet with the appropriate data and scanning and emailing backup to proper departments.
Record daily cash receipts (OPR) for any payments not being processed through Personify.
Review and process any credit card disputes including refund requests.
Book all cash activity on a daily basis to help maintain proper cash balance in Great Plains.
File investment statements and daily cash activity.
Deposit checks on a daily basis based on proper type for example Journal, Exhibit, and Subscriptions.
Assist in the completion of annual financial Audit.
Maintain various balance sheet reconciliations.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree required.
One year of administrative, accounting, or accounting related experience preferred.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office, intermediate Excel skills, and experience working with an accounting system.
Ability to manage multiple tasks/products and the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Experience in transactional workflow, particularly within the purchase-to-pay business cycle.
Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Ability to read and interpret general business procedures.
Ability to understand assigned tasks and impact of such tasks on accounting processes/procedures.
