IFT believes that Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) is essential to the success and sustainability of the Association, and our goal is to create an environment where values of diversity, inclusion and equity are celebrated and made real for our members, staff and volunteers. With the recent addition of a Strategic Promise to “Include,” the Director of Diversity & Inclusion will be responsible for fulfilling this promise by defining, assessing, developing and measuring strategies to build IFT’s position as a leader within D&I. This includes ensuring our performance and progress is communicated effectively internally and externally. The Director will collaborate across the Association to provide various solutions, consultations, and trainings on D&I opportunities and issues that align with our strategic goals and objectives.

Collaborates across the Association to diagnose and recommend potential solutions for D&I related issues within various processes, practices, programs and systems.
Develops and leads a sustainable process to continuously assess the organization's strategic goals related to D&I excellence.
Partners with and supports internal teams, such as Membership, Marketing, Knowledge & Learning and Meetings to ensure delivery of inclusive messaging is present in generated content and marketing collateral.
Offers recommendations to ensure we foster an inclusive culture internally and for our members, which proactively leverages multiple dimensions of diversity.
Assists with the development and implementation of action plans in collaboration with key stakeholders across the Association.
Develops and maintains metrics designed to measure the effectiveness of D&I initiatives and is accountable for outcomes and regular reporting.
Engages with leadership to drive D&I related messages throughout the organization.
Provides thought leadership and stays abreast of current research and best practices in the D&I space.
Assists with the selection and evaluation of vendors to ensure IFT is building relationships with diverse and inclusive business partners.
Represents the Association on D&I issues with external partners and/or sponsors.
Demonstrates our Core Values through decisions and actions.
The Director will collaborate with IFT’s Director of Human Resources on the following:
Design of the Association’s workforce D&I strategy using analysis and organizational assessments to identify enablers and potential inhibitors of a workplace environment that is diverse and inclusive.
Creation of a dynamic recruiting strategy that attracts underrepresented groups and engages community partnerships, emerging and industry talent, professional associations, etc.
Leverage new and existing data to make informed decisions throughout the employee life cycle, from how we attract and select talent, to how we grow and retain it.
Development and implementation of D&I training and programming for all levels of staff.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Organizational Behavior or related field preferred.
5 - 7 years of experience working in diversity and inclusion, community outreach, or a relevant, related discipline.
Strong knowledge of best practices for D& I with prior experience in developing and fostering a diverse work environment.
Proven track record of creating, implementing and measuring successful diversity and inclusion programs.
Fundamental understanding of business strategy and how to link D&I and HR initiatives to business activities. A strong consultant with demonstrated ability to understand business requirements and turn that analysis into actionable solutions.
Demonstrated sound judgment and ability to make effective, timely decisions.
Strong multitasking abilities and experience with overseeing multiple projects simultaneously.
Demonstrated experience working with and leading teams that collaborate across an organization and with external stakeholders.
Association experience a plus
Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills, strategic and innovative thinker
Demonstrated knowledge of other HR disciplines (sourcing, outreach, recruiting, employee and leadership development, workforce planning, etc.).
