The National Association of Landscape Professionals is growing and we need go-getters to join us in building a better future for the landscape operators we serve. The Program Manager will work with the Vice President of Public Affairs and the Director of Workforce Development to promote the industry to home and business owners and showcase the outstanding career opportunities that exist in the profession. This is a new position and has combined a variety of tasks together to create a job that will appeal to someone looking to get a foot in the door for a career in association management as well as candidates with solid writing strengths and project management experience that want to enhance their skills and shape processes and outcomes in a new position. Through the selection process, the successful candidate will wow the hiring team with demonstrations of initiative, writing finesse, people-skills, and organizational overload.
Create photo galleries of interest to home and business owners
Post Twitter content (other social channels managed externally)
Project Management – will vary but examples include:
Identify locations and people for interviews and photo and video shoots
Coordinate with subjects for research studies
Post regular content to community group with association leaders
Gathering footage for technology showcase
Identifying potential youth groups with whom to work in promotion of industry careers
Student Scholarship Program
Answer questions from student applicants
Review applications and seek information from incomplete submissions
Review criteria with donors
Notify winners and non-winners
Student and Faculty Programming
Assist with annual updates to event descriptions, website, forms, etc.
Review school registration forms and ensure they are complete
Assist with logistics at large, annual student employment event
Assist with identifying and bringing on new Student Chapter Members
Support relationship with FFA and increase visibility at exhibition event
Support Landscape Faculty Academy, student programs at LANDSCAPES, etc.
Coordinate leadership calls
Support fundraising efforts with donor onboarding
Support projects and programs for IGI donor perks
Help members with questions on job board postings
Write monthly accomplishment guide
EXCELLENT writing skills. Unless you would give yourself an A+ in grammar and creative sentence structure, this is not the job for you.
PHENOMENAL organizational skills, with ability to multi-task. Unless you are on top of your own to-do list and take pride in juggling lots of balls, this is not the job for you.
Periodic travel required
