This high-profile position has overall responsibility for the organization, management, and implementation of all facets of Leadership Florida’s regional activities, enhancing the value of membership in Leadership Florida, developing and maintaining financial support for the organization and other activities. Key roles include: •Liaison with the Leadership Team, Regional Councils and Member Services Committee, supporting their efforts to enhance the engagement of our members and to provide added value to their membership, •Supports the work of the Awards Committee, •Works with president/CEO and board members to develop innovative and effective funding plans, and secure program sponsorships and in-kind donations, •Identifies grant opportunities and manages preparation and submission of grant proposals, •Creates and executes effective ways of demonstrating value to our donors in order to ensure long-term continued funding, and •Other duties as assigned.
To be successful in the role, the manager must possess a wide array of executive leadership and communication skills to deal effectively with key constituencies with whom he/she works, particularly graduates of all LF programs, board and committee members, sponsors, key Florida leaders and colleagues. The job requires both technical and leadership competencies, including:
•Knowledge of Florida, its leaders, institutions, trends and issues, •Experience in the non-profit sector, •Well-honed leadership and interpersonal skills, •Excellent communications skills, especially writing, •Financial management skills to successfully develop and manage budgets, •Strong time-management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and juggle multiple tasks, •Technical capabilities, including Microsoft Office and database software, • Ability to work in a highly-collaborative environment, •Event planning experience, and •Available for overnight travel
