The Sales Manager, Strategic Partnerships is the primary point of sale for organization’s events, which garners $5 million in annual sales. The Sales Manager will be responsible for developing new business while retaining and expanding existing partnerships for both exhibit booths and sponsorship for organization’s events. This manager collaborates with other employees to develop new sponsorship opportunities and ensure all exhibit and sponsorship deliverables.
Generate leads, cultivate prospects, and move sale opportunities from prospects to close.
Track existing sales while also prospecting, evaluating, and cultivating new and lapsed business; documenting all sales and prospecting transactions in the organization’s database platform.
Enforce existing protocols, guidelines, sponsorship benefits, pricing structures, and processes as it relates to the event.
Work across departments to ensure various deliverables associated with conference sales are achieved.
Encourage repeat business and growth of current partnerships through excellent customer service and client inquiry responsiveness.
Integral team member that increases organization’s engagement with small businesses and sells organization’s suite of programs and events throughout the year.
At least five years of business development/sales experience that includes experience in developing, sourcing, and converting new business and retaining current business.
Previous experience in managing conference sales; experience within the association industry a plus.
Ability to establish, execute and exceed sales goals. Experience managing 5 and 6 figure sponsorship sales a plus.
Knowledge of initiating and prospecting new sales, strong interpersonal, writing and communication skills, excellent organization and time management skills
Demonstrate a high level of emotional intelligence by developing and maintaining external relationships with clients and colleagues.
Previous experience in managing conference sales. Experience within the association industry a plus.
Strong proficiency in basic office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and prior experience in a sales CRM platform. Experience with Salesforce sales cloud platform a plus.
