Who we are looking for: The American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Business Development Manager to achieve revenue goals for the ASCO Advantage program. ASCO Advantage is an unbranded, disease-state focused educational program offered by ASCO to industry professionals. ASCO Advantage advances knowledge into understanding that builds confidence for engagement in clinical conversations with oncology treatment teams.
What you will do:
Utilize current relationships and develop new relationships with industry and healthcare companies’ sales, commercial, and medical affairs teams to understand client needs for oncology education, communicate client needs to internal stakeholders, and educate clients about the ASCO Advantage Program
Manage communications and correspondence with industry contacts and internal stakeholders to build Advantage clientele and support customer service efforts
Utilize and maximize capabilities of Salesforce, CRM and/or other tools to maintain accurate and detailed pipeline and other sales data to achieve participation, budget, and client satisfaction goals and inform internal stakeholders
Prepare pricing proposals and creative business model approaches for each client per client needs in cooperation with the Advantage Director
Collaborate with Finance to ensure timely billing and collections
Work with the Advantage Director to establish targets and goals for the program
Provide best-in-class customer service to both internal and external stakeholders
What you will need to be successful:
At least 5-7 years of sales and/or business development experience in an organization with a wide array of products and services
Superior communication skills including oral, listening and written
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and to complete a high volume of work and meet deadlines with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Superb analytical skills and ability to think things through, anticipate solutions and next steps, and see the bigger picture, while offering fresh ideas
Excellent critical thinking, prioritization, and decision-making skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
Availability to travel 30 plus days/nights per year
Ideal candidates will also have:
Previous industry or industry-related sales experience
Proven ability to coach and develop staff
Experience creating and managing expense and revenue budgets
Experience drafting simple legal documents
