Washington, DC based association management firm seeks association professional to serve as Director of Member Services and Communications for a client in the pharmaceutical industry. Friendly and flexible office environment. Reporting to the Deputy Executive Director, the Director of Member Services and Communication will ensure that the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, people and systems are in place to effectively manage the day-to-day operations, invoicing, member communication and committee support. Member Invoicing and Cost Allocation
Oversee member invoicing schedule, reminder and financial reporting
Oversee cost allocation process including coordination with committees and member communication
Review and interpret data
Manage data contracting
Data management (splitting and posting data, self-reporting, communication to members)
Oversee member collection
Manage member services support staff
Oversee membership report
Oversee member communications (weekly newsletter, materials for member meeting)
Oversee member website
Oversee prospective member outreach materials
Manage support staff
Ensures timely distribution of newsletters and communications
Suggests area of content and format redesign
Manage public website when developed
Manages and oversees the day to day member services activities
Manage and oversee member inquiries
Manage and develop member policies
Work with Executive Director and Deputy Director on committee management and support
Help manage new initiatives
Assist with planning materials for Board/Committee and annual meeting
Other Communication Support
Support project for plan development and implementation (website oversight, graphic version management, etc.
This position may require 10-15% domestic travel throughout the year.
This is a largely sedentary position that requires the ability to speak, hear, see and lift small objects up to 20 lbs.
A minimum of seven to ten years’ experience in association/non-profit management; including working with board of directors, committees and workgroups; managing multiple stakeholders
Experience managing sensitive data
Experience leading committees/workgroups and the ability to make decisions on behalf of a client
Experience managing and implementing all aspects of a broad-spectrum project
Extremely organized with strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and able to manage multiple projects
Exceptional problem-solving capabilities and resourceful under pressure
Ability to work both in a team environment and independently
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written); including ability to present and speak in public
Outstanding customer service and ability to work with members in person, on the phone and electronically
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Experience in iMIS, or similar member database
