The Communications and Marketing Specialist shall be responsible for helping develop and implement a marketing strategy through digital advertising, social media, email, web content, collateral materials and general branding that increase NACE membership and non-dues revenue through strategic communications and an annual conference. In this capacity, this Director will work to understand and define the needs of the organization and related membership. Growing and engaging current and future members by providing them with content that’s aligned with their needs and interests.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to draft various types of planning documents including marketing plans; Experience in setting goals, objectives, strategies, tactics and measures for marketing campaigns. Experience with the pricing and discounting; sales and delivery; and communication and promotions of member benefits and/or products.
Experience executing promotional campaigns via web, social media, graphic design, digital advertising, broadcast email and print; Excellent overall communicator, including written, oral, and interpersonal; ability to write clear and compelling copy a must; Strong project management skills including attention to detail and follow-through, as well as ability to manage several projects at once; Must be a team-oriented person who can share information, goals, opportunities, and successes with the appropriate parties. Must be a self-starter who is able to work independently, understands the need for detail in the midst of work being done within a much larger picture; Stay up-to-date with digital marketing trends and potential new channels and strategies.
All other duties as assigned.
3-4 Years Marketing and Communications Experience with a trade association and/or government entity such as Capitol Hill or federal agency
2-3 Years of Website Content and Social Media Administration
Excellent writing and editing skills
Excellent oral communications
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Wordpress, and website management systems
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a Political Science, Communications or related field
