The Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards (“CFP Board”) - headquartered in Washington, D.C.-is the certifying body for financial planning professionals. It is a non-profit organization that fosters professional standards in personal financial planning through its setting and enforcement of the education, examination, experience, ethics, and other requirements for the CFP certification.
CFP Board is seeking an Administrator, Experience who will ensure CFP candidates meet the experience standard for initial certification; manage candidate communication and reporting functions related to the experience requirement for CFP certification.
Evaluates experience submissions for compliance with CFP Board Standards.
Identifies anomalies and errors in experience entries and takes immediate action with both stakeholders and IT as needed.
Reviews and analyzes validity of company names, job titles, indirect experience descriptions; requests clarification of descriptions as needed to determine whether candidates’ experiences meet the requirements.
Coordinates the Experience audit process to ensure candidates’ experience aligns with documentation submitted.
Actively engages with candidates, CFP® Professionals and other Stakeholders to ensure understanding of and compliance with CFP Board’s policies and continuing education requirements.
Reviews denied and disputed decisions with Manager, Continuing Education & Experience.
Monitors and intervenes when necessary to ensure Apprenticeship Pathway, Self-Employed/Volunteer/Pro Bono and random supervisor verification processes stay within accepted response times.
Prepares reports and monthly dashboards to monitor department activities, provides analysis of data and identifies trends.
Continuously reviews and recommends improvements to the applicable certification processes, procedures and policies for compliance, effectiveness and efficiencies.
In conjunction with Marketing, coordinates formal, regularly scheduled communication to candidates at different stages in the certification process to ensure the certificants progress through completion of CE.
Continuously reviews and recommends and implements improvements to candidate communications, the applicable processes, procedures and policies for compliance, effectiveness and efficiencies.
Assists with specific Continuing Education department projects and initiatives as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or other equivalent relevant discipline
Minimum of 4 years’ work experience with a certifying organization or non-profit association preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite; expert knowledge of Excel, knowledge of NetForum preferred
Ability to analyze large amounts of data to distinguish between activity types and identify trends
Strong communication skills (both written and oral), as well as intelligent listening skills
Detail-oriented self-starter with high energy and the ability to work independently, accurately and on schedule
Ability to adapt quickly and readily to change
Ability to work and collaborate as a part of a motivated, driven team
Ability to think critically and ability to logically construct a defensible position
Strong customer service focus and ability to effectively ask questions and communicate in potentially challenging situations
