Education and Training, Marketing, Project Management/Program Development
Under the direction of and in partnership with the President & CEO, the Director of Education Development is responsible for developing the overall education strategy and delivery mechanisms for all education programs. Efforts will align with organizational strategy and initiatives. A primary focus will be on developing revenue producing programs that have measurable value to the membership. The Director of Education Development will interact with the Association Forum Board of Directors, committee and working group members, other volunteer leaders, and members at large.
Leadership and Strategic Involvement:
Develop, secure approval and deliver or exceed annual revenue plans for assigned business groups.
Serve as oversight liaison to Committee & Working Groups, including the Forum Forward Program Advisory Group, the Holiday Showcase Program Advisory Group, the CAE Working Group, Welcoming Environment Committee (Diversity & Inclusion Committee,) and other task forces or working groups as necessary.
Serve as a key member of the Association Forum senior management team, interacting regularly with all stakeholders to identify and secure new sales opportunities.
Motivate, mentor and be a strong personal role model.
Supervise the work of the Education Development team.
Direct the development of all educational program activities and the implementation of various delivery mechanisms, including online learning, to members and non-members.
Identify new opportunities for delivery, including outreach to suburban membership.
Implement innovative programs to enhance the member experience.
Specifically oversee and ensure the success of the organization's signature annual events and specialized education programs, including vendor management.
Partner with the Vice President of Business Development to develop educational sponsorship offerings and to ensure that sponsorship revenues and deliverables are met.
Core Requirements, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in education or related field preferred. Certified Association Executive (CAE) preferred.
7 to 10 years experience in education development and delivery.
Association management experience preferred within a broad range of areas; experience supervising staff at all levels.
Proven track record of development of original content for education programs.
Demonstrated experience understanding of educational design and the creative use of technologies. Experience managing a comprehensive strategic education program.
Accountable, dynamic, high energy driver and self-starter, capable of delivering, communicating and leading the President / CEO’s direction and vision for the organization.
Excellent written, verbal, organizational, management, and customer service skills are required. High level of initiative and creativity essential.
Team builder, innovative thinker with the ability to translate strategic thinking into actionable plans and results.
Ability to interact with staff and membership with a high level of diplomacy and effectiveness. A sophisticated business professional capable of working on many tasks independently, as well as in a team.
Demonstrated ability to execute against deadlines, manage multiple projects, set priorities, and monitor and control expenditures. Additional skills include the ability to multi-task, attention to detail, critical and strategic thinking, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
