The Director of Foundation will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the NAMA Foundation, a 501(c) 3 charitable organization serving the convenience services industry. Primary responsibilities include involvement in the development and execution of the organization’s strategic plan, including ongoing sustainability efforts through the development and execution of a robust and diverse annual fundraising effort, as well as day-to-day organizational management and administration of the organization’s grant and scholarship program.
Candidate will be expected to exhibit exemplary financial and donor stewardship and develop and maintain relationships with current and potential NAMA Foundation donors through written correspondence, telephone conversations, and face-to-face meetings. Candidate will be responsible for crafting development communication pieces that appeal to a wide variety of audiences. This candidate will also provide leadership to the NAMA Foundation Board of Trustees and will serve as the day-to-day point of contact for the Board, staff, donors and other external audiences.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Meet or exceed annual operating budget for both revenue and expense.
Develop and execute an annual development plan focused on diversifying and expanding annual revenues and the donor base.
Provide creative and innovative solutions to expand and fortify donor engagement.
Work collaboratively with NAMA’s Director of Business Development in the procurement of multi-year major gifts commitments.
Steward Foundation investments through transparency, accountability and ongoing and regular communication/ reporting with donors and the industry at-large.
Manage the process for accepting, evaluating and approving grant requests in accordance with Board approved guidelines, budgets and the strategic and operational plans.
Serve as the day-to-day staff liaison to the Foundation Board and attend 2-3 board meetings a year. May also include attendance at the NAMA Board of Director’s meetings.
Lead preparations for, and play an active leadership role in Foundation Board meetings.
Play an active role in the development of organization and program budgets and ongoing management of organization P&L.
Manage all aspects of donor invoicing and accounts receivable.
Lead the promotion and management for the Foundations two annual scholarship programs.
Represent the Foundation at NAMA and convenience services industry events.

Technical Requirements – Education, Areas of Knowledge and Experience
5 years of relevant work experience (fundraising, business development, non-profit/ foundation management, sales)
Proven successful fundraising experience, national in scope, including corporate, individual giving programs, as well as special events.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook
Experience working in Salesforce and/or iMIS, preferred.
