The Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (SCCT), an international professional society representing physicians, scientists, and technologists headquartered in Vienna, Virginia has retained Witt/Kieffer to aid in the recruitment of an Executive Director.
Founded in 2005, SCCT addresses all issues pertaining to the field of cardiovascular CT. With its growing membership of 2,500, SCCT engages its members in a number of ways, including producing the leading journal in the field, hosting the nation’s largest conference of its kind, conducting a growing cadre of continuing education courses, and advocating on behalf of its members.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will help the society achieve sustained growth, help promote the specialty nationally, and evolve SCCT’s services and reach to its members. He/she will be responsible for overall leadership and direction of the organization and its staff to ensure effective administration of SCCT policies, programs, and activities in cooperation and consultation with the Board of Directors. The Executive Director will have to utilize an understanding of health care systems and policies relevant to physician practices and be driven to advance the field. Keys to the success of this position will be the ability to be a collaborative bridge-builder and develop strong external partnerships, particularly with the ability to engage industry.
SCCT is seeking candidates with significant experience at the senior management level of a science and/or health care membership association, life sciences organization, health care provider, health care policy organization, or related entity. A Bachelor’s degree is required, and a relevant Master’s degree (Business, Health Administration or related) is strongly preferred. Above all, candidates should be able to build a passion for the field of cardiovascular CT.
