This is a position supporting the finances, budget and record keeping of the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (AOFAS) and the Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Foundation (The Foundation).
Processes account payables for both AOFAS and The Foundation including preparation of checks for signature and mailing.
Processes checks via NetFORUM (membership database) and records deposits in QuickBooks.
Analyzes on a weekly basis cash accounts for liquidity.
Maintains payable files by vendor and bank statements by account.
Maintains invoice paper copy files and updates open invoice reports.
Assists in establishing and coordinating a reserve account.
Collaborates and ensures financial records (membership, registration and donations) are consistent and accurate across the organization.
Coordinates annual audit including information with auditor, accountant and AOFAS executive director.
Coordinates with outside independent accountant on monthly closing, financial statements and other financial matters as directed.
Assists management with budget development process for both AOFAS and The Foundation: develops, disseminates and compiles budget worksheets.
Ensures numbers are consistent and accurate and budget detail is noted.
Coordinates office equipment inventory with Director of Information Technology.
Helps lead onsite meeting registration and collaborates with event registrar.
Serves on the Technology Team and supports the chair and colleagues.
Assists Executive Director with projects as assigned.
Assists in preparation of meetings and/or courses; assists with onsite registration desk at meetings.
Supports and assumes other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum of 5+ years of bookkeeping experience including project management and accountability
Prefer some association or nonprofit experience
Prefer experience working on programs with staff and volunteer involvement
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
Must have strong customer service orientation
Must have strong team orientation
Must be computer literate and proficient (MS Office – Outlook, Word and Excel)
Must be proficient with QuickBooks desktop version
Knowledge and experience with membership database, Abila NetFORUM is highly desirable
Must have good time management, and organizational skills
Must be attentive to detail
