Edison Electric Institute, the trade association representing America’s investor-owned electric companies, has an outstanding opportunity for a Manager, External Communications.
The Manager will develop content for materials that support EEI’s public policy goals, including speeches, presentations, and other executive materials. The Manager will also develop content for EEI’s digital properties, including We Stand for Energy, and draft materials on key industry principles, including cleaner energy, customer solutions, and a modern, reliable grid. Other responsibilities include creating collaterals to support the Institute’s Education & Advocacy Strategic Initiative, identifying sponsorship opportunities, and promoting events. The Manager will work closely with EEI’s creative team to ensure documents and presentations are visually compelling.
The successful applicant will have a college degree in public relations, mass communication, new media, journalism, or a related field, as well as at least five years of experience writing and editing. Energy experience is a plus. Applicants must demonstrate the ability to write persuasively, quickly, and accurately in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment. The successful candidate will have excellent writing and editing skills and be able to develop strategic communications, including dynamic presentations. The ability to work well with internal and external teams is essential.
