The Master Builders Association of Pierce County (MBA Pierce) is seeking a new Executive Officer to lead the organization and work with the board of directors.
Founded in 1945, MBA Pierce believes that home ownership is the cornerstone of family security, stability and prosperity. It strengthens the nation’s communities, encourages civic responsibility and provides a solid foundation from which to work. MBA Pierce is concerned with and has a stake in the quality of life here in Pierce County. It stresses community involvement as a means to an end – homes for all.
MBA is affiliated with the Building Industry Association of Washington (BIAW) and the National Association of Homebuilders (NAHB). Its mission is to promote the interests of the home building industry through membership involvement, legislative action, networking and education while striving to maintain the highest ethical standards in its membership.
MBA currently has more than 600 members, a fulltime staff of five, including the CEO and an operating budget for 2017 of $908,000. The organization is governed by a volunteer board of directors who are representative of and elected by the membership.
MBA funds a scholarship program that provides local students the opportunity to gain a higher education in the building sector. MBA and BIAW offer thousands of dollars to area students interested in building a better tomorrow.
Member programs include GRIP, a retro program lowering L&I costs for members; Advantage Partners, lowering materials costs for members; BIAW Health Trust, lowering benefit costs for members; and APP, a fuel cost savings program. In addition to the formal programs MBA provides a multitude of events and educational programs that help bring members together to build a cohesive and support industry.
