A large Michigan non-profit, membership association is seeking a driven Business Development Director with integrity, execution, vision and professionalism to join our growing team.

Desired Requirements: o Education: Bachelor’s Degree required. o Attention to detail, strong interpersonal and creative problem solving skills a must. o Experience: Three to five-years professional sales and administrative support with emphasis in marketing and customer service; Association or trade/service organization preferred. o Ideal candidate is a proficient communicator, with the ability to negotiate successful outcomes to any scenario. o Limited travel throughout the state, with some overnights are required. o Must have the ability to successfully manage multiple projects at one time and operate in a fast-paced environment. o Knowledge of: Marketing, sales, member organizations, including working knowledge of Microsoft software products, word processing, spreadsheets, database and e-mail software. o Specific Mental Skills: Ability to analyze, interpret and summarize information; ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, ability to problem solve and use judgment skills effectively; ability to relate tasks to other operations within the Association. o Leadership Attributes: Professional appearance; effective written and oral communication skills; ability to set an example for others in the Association and represent the Association professionally to the members and other constituencies; and the ability to appropriately meld one’s personal and professional life so that a professional demeanor is maintained at all times.
Responsibilities: o Generate and develop new partner relationships for advertising, sponsor, event and trade show opportunities. o Collaborate with other departments to identify new areas for growth and build new assets. o Maintain, drive and coordinate all required details, including reports, appointments and follow up. o Manage and maintain all department and transactional documentation and agreements. o Identify and evaluate cross-marketing prospects, assist with cross-marketing initiatives, and track success ratio. o Identify, build and maintain active leads list of qualified new prospects o Manage internal database (CRM) and keep sales client’s information up-to-date. o Maintain the confidentiality of any and all information.
