The Florida Chamber of Commerce, “Florida’s Business Advocate," seeks a Board of Governors Program Manager to join our growing team in Tallahassee. As Florida’s business advocate, the Florida Chamber believes free enterprise is the key to making Florida more competitive and encourages applicants who share this belief to apply.
This position is responsible for leading Board of Governor’s member engagement including working directly with a wide variety of members and participating in and supporting board activities and events. The Board of Governors Program Manager will work with Florida Chamber teammates in engaging our Board of Governor’s members by creating and managing a broad range of engagement opportunities. The role will work directly with Board of Governor members developing volunteer opportunities.
Key Responsibilities: • Lead the development and execution of Florida Chamber Board of Governors member engagement strategy • Facilitate effective communication and information flow between Florida Chamber and Board of Governor’s members • Coordinate opportunities to celebrate the achievements and contribution of Board of Governor’s members • Grow the Board of Governors • CEO Special Projects to assist Board of Governors members
Knowledge: • Experienced in program development, implementation and monitoring • Key volunteer management and Association experience essential • Extremely well organized, possessing the ability to coordinate multiple projects and manage multiple stakeholders across the organization, including the leadership team. • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines • Self-starter who thrives under pressure, ability to work in a fast-paced environment • Strong organizational, detail, and communication skills • Positive attitude, versatility and willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm • Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams • Possesses good judgement, initiative and decision-making skills; anticipates problems • Proficient in Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint & Word • Experience with member driven organizations, and/or political science and/or public relations preferred • Association database experience a plus
