JOB SUMMARY: The Math Motivators Program Specialist will help create and execute an ambitious program to expand our current math tutoring program. The Actuarial Foundation is expanding the Foundation team to achieve growth in needed programs and service areas. The team and culture is highly collaborative and collegial. This position presents a great opportunity for a motivated, entrepreneurial self-starter to make a huge impact at The Actuarial Foundation.
*As the primary staff liaison to this program, you will be the program expert able to provide accurate and timely updates as to the status of the program to Foundation leadership.
*Reviewing, assessing and reporting on the various research taking place in the U.S. regarding the value of tutoring programs to inner-city schools. This may involve travel to locations where the research is taking place.
*In partnership with the Executive Director and Marketing Coordinator, develop a communication and marketing plan targeted at schools, universities, corporations and actuaries. The marketing plan will require new collateral and digital marketing pieces.
*In partnership with the Executive Director and the Corporate & Foundations Relations Specialist, develop a plan to increase donations to this program.
*Cultivate new relationships with education organizations like Teach for America.
*Identify the technology needed to help manage the day-to-day operations and logistics for this program.
*Develop and implement and necessary project management tools and manage the project on a daily basis.
*Prepare and present research on how the Foundation might expand this program to other locations.
*Coordinate and communicate with the actuarial membership organizations so they have a clear understanding of the status of the program and what opportunities for involvement they have.
*Act as the staff liaison to the Education sub-committee overseeing the development and execution of this program. This include regular communication with Education Committee Chair, sub-committee leader and the Board of Trustees.
Generate mailings, press release audiences, schedule committee meeting conference calls and work with other Actuarial Foundation staff to perform additional administrative tasks as needed.
Experience using Raisers Edge donor database software preferred, not required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED (an equivalent amount of training, education and experience will be considered)
Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years’ work related experience in a nonprofit or association to include project work and committee/project team liaison experience.
Project management experience is preferred.
