RVIA is seeking a government affairs specialist with 1 – 2 years demonstrated experience supporting a winning GA team. The specialist will be assigned a diverse portfolio of work in both federal and state initiatives. Job duties include but are not limited to bill analysis, managing a bill tracking system (FiscalNote), supporting both the federal and state lobbying teams with legislative research and analysis, assisting the management team with special projects, assisting with fly-in day and congressional caucus event logistics, helping manage the RV Caucuses, and writing correspondence and other materials.
Required Skills & Experience:
The position requires a bachelor's degree in political science or a similar relevant discipline with 1 – 2 years’ experience managing a bill tracking system, reading legislation and writing accurate summaries. Demonstrates critical thinking, reading skill and professional writing abilities. Have mathematical abilities to create tables, charts and graphs. Possess skills in identifying problems and crafting effective and creative solutions. Experience in research projects, lobbying campaigns, and similar Government Affairs programmatic events. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite on a PC platform. Experience with Adobe Acrobat, Illustrator, posting material to a website, using an association-wide customer management system, and similar technology skills preferred.
