The National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ) has experienced unprecedented growth in the past three years. NAHQ is expanding staff to ensure that opportunities for continued growth are realized and to continue to advance on NAHQ’s mission and strong trajectory.
NAHQ seeks a VP of Market and Product Development responsible for the development and lifecycle management of all products within NAHQ’s portfolio, with accountabilities for sales performance and overall revenue generation.
Reporting directly or indirectly to the VP of Market and Product Development are product managers/directors who are responsible for specific product lines (education, certification, membership and marketing). The ideal candidate will have verifiable experience growing revenue by increasing sales of current products and new product development. Experience with channel management is required, with particular emphasis on experience with corporate partnerships/sponsorships, corporate/institutional sales and individual consumer sales.
The VP of Market and Product Development functions in a leadership capacity, with accountability for high-level strategy and execution of all activities within his/her functional area, with support from staff with strong execution skills. The VP of Market and Product Development reports to, and is a trusted advisor to, the CEO/ED and is viewed as a strong mentor and advocate for staff. The role is held by someone with a strong track record for success, who balances an intensity for results with a human-touch that is supportive and nurturing. Strong facilitation skills with an emphasis on optimizing alignment within and across functional outputs is critical. VP of Market and Product Development leads a team of three direct reports (one new/vacant), who have between one and three reports each at various levels.
VP of Market and Product Development Responsibilities
Proactively recommends and plans for maintaining and growing existing product lines as well as new/expanding product development. New product opportunities are abundant and NAHQ will release new products to market annually.
Responsible for market development. NAHQ will focus on growing its market share in acute care settings and desires to expand product utilization across the full continuum of healthcare settings. Additionally, NAHQ will move beyond relationships with individuals and will expand to provide services to institutions.
Responsible for marketing/communications and sales to individual and organizational markets. Supportive of both strategic messaging and organizational presence externally.
Responsible for member/certification and customer retention and engagement.
Heavy emphasis on membership value proposition; NAHQ is working to enhance value proposition and increase retention; inclusion of member benefits and engagement strategies are critical.
Responsible for live events including National Quality Summit and NAHQ Next (national annual conference).
Familiar with technology enabled sales and marketing. Responsible for Digital User Experience Strategy and execution oversight. Experience with AMS, LMS, and other IT resources.
International experience is desired.

Strong skill set for leading complex teams and experienced staff who function well independently, but must be aligned for optimal results.
Academic qualifications of a VP of Market and Product Development
Bachelor's degree in a field related to business.
Post graduate degree in masters of business administration or marketing preferred.
At least 8-10 years’ experience leading complex teams.
Healthcare association background strongly preferred.
Association management background strongly preferred.
Ability to travel 10-20% annually.
